Betty's Blog Challenge

Betty is having a blog challenge with some blog candy for a prize. I would love to win the candy she is offering so I just had to participate. Here is a link to her blog.
So lets talk about the details of my card. In the background there are some leaf shaped paper doilies. I also distressed the edges with my favorite vintage photo distress ink. The pumpkin and leaf die cuts are by Making Memories. The scarecrow stamp is from I Brake for stamps. Shapes behind the scarecrow are Nestibilities. The lacy border was done with a border punch from Martha Stewart. The Arrow is a foam stamps I had that I used a crackle background stamp on afterwords. The crackle stamp was from I Brake for Stamps. The "Fall" letter are canvas letters from Making Memories.

The scarecrow was colored with colored pencils and blended with OMS. Tired of details yet? Well, I didn't stop there. Inside, I distressed a white paper and stamps some leaves with some Stampin Up stamps.
I would tell you to rush over to Betty's Blog and play too but then I would have more competition. Okay, just kidding. Go try out her sketch too. : )

S is for seahorse and shells

I have used the Taylored Artwork stamps over and over and I never cease to love them. The details and design are wonderful. They are hard to find but well worth the effort. I colored the seahorse with copics. The background of the seahorse is done with copics and distress inks. The shell background is embossed with white embossing powder. The stamps are from I Brake for Stamps. Then I went over the images with the same distress ink used on the center. It makes me want to go to the beach!

Creative Anything Goes Card

The JustCards group had an anything goes swap. This is the card I made. The word stamp is from I Brake For Stamps. The shapes are done with Nestibilities. The background is done with Tim Holz masks and distress inks. The nest was a stamp I picked up in Illinois by Inkadinkado called Tin Can Mail I think. I can't really tell from the writing on it. The nest stamp was colored with markers.

Best Witches

Here is one of the Halloween cards I did for swaps on Justcards. I love the rhinestones one her shoes. The background is more purple than the picture looks. It is a Cuttlebug folder. The shoes are from Outlines Stamps. The words are in the Doodle collection by Stampendous. The coloring was done with colored pencils and orderless mineral spirits.

Tim Holtz masked card

On Inkyfunstampers, someone posted a video of Tim using his masks. Here is a link to that video. When I went out of town to a craft store, I found he had small packages of them too so I got some to try. Neither the big ones or small ones were expensive. I paid about $2.50. So here is the card I did last night. The paper was originally yellow/white. I pleased the masked and used pine needles distress ink. Then I tried to move the mask slightly and add the leaves. I should have let it dry more before trying the second layer. This time I used vintage photo distress ink. The words are a rub on.
If you see some, give it a try. I am going to look for them again. It was lots of fun.

Fancy Fold card

This is a card I did for the fancy fold card swap at Card Crafts. I liked the last one so much, I had to try it again.

The stamps used were from I Brake for Stamps. I used gold embossing powder on the background and main images. Stampin Up ink was used to do the shading. If you haven't tried one of these cards, be sure to try one. Here is a tutorial

R is for Rhino

and r is for rose too. I made the Rhino card and loved it too much to sent it off for the swap. The Rose card is the official R card I used for the alphabet swap for Justcards.
The stamp used on the Rhino card is from Taylored Artwork. The face is more dimensional than the picture shows. I added a second level and shaped it with my fingers. I colored it with gray and blue-gray colored pencils and then went over it with a pearl-ly white water color. The white paper is left over textured wallpaper from doing my craft room. The background was done with my Cuttlebug. I just happened to have a yarn to add the details that had the perfect green and orange in it.
This one is done with a Stampin Up set of stamps that is retired. the green curls are done with a die cut from Quickutz.

Clover Fairy

I made this with my new Flower Fairy stamp. I colored it with colored pencils, OMS and Copics. The lace eyelet punch is from Martha Stewart.
