Day 161 More layered cards - Worldwide beauties #1

I got another package of printed sheets to do layered cards from my favorite store, the Craft Outlet.  The funnest part is you never know what the store will have. In this case, there was only one package. I could only see the top sheet and had to gamble on the other sheets. It was worth the $3 gamble.  I got pages and pages of different girls like this.  Here is the first.  What do you think it should say inside?

Day 157 Hidden Peace

Here is a small canvas I worked on last night. I played with pigment powders and Gel mediums. I also had some metallic paints. I used some of the translucent Golden paints too.  The black was Dylusions acrylic paint.  This is my last challenge for the AALL & Create challenges.  I did them all!

Since it is so metallic, the pictures don't do it justice.

Then I added flowers to the picture.

The word peace in several languages can be found on the flowers.

Last I doodled on the black but it wasn't a pen or marker. It was done with a small paint brush.

Day 149 Ready to Pop -

Thursday I am helping with a baby shower for one of my employees. These will be the centerpieces. I will fill them with popcorn and add balloons.

The containers came from the dollar store.  The designed were cut with the Silhouette.

I used Beacon 3-in-1 Glue. This is my favorite glue. It has the constancy of thin rubber cement. It doesn't make your paper wavy.  It gives you a bit to adjust the paper. It doesn't seem to come loos later like tape runners. It's clear and you can "rub off" the glue outside that comes out the edges, at first before it drys.  It is also Acid free and waterproof.  Oh, and wait, works good on plastic too.

Day 148 African Visions

This is for the AALL& Create Challenges.  It is the Africa Challenge.  These are the iteam they asked to be included.
  • Warm, bright colors
  • Repeated ethnic patterns
  • Charms, pearls, metallic wire…
  • Words or text
  • Textures, cracks, rust effect...
It says you don't have to include all. I started with this canvas I collaged.  I used an old wallpaper book I had. The wallpaper have the monkey, zebra, and elephant.

Then I added the people.  The faces and bodies are paper that I painted on after they were glued on.

The faces are cooper paper.

The earrings are metal rings glued on.

I used these in the piece.
  • Warm, bright colors
  • metallic wire…
  • Textures, cracks, rust effect...

Have a Creative Day.

Day 147 - By the Sea

I am trying to finish up the birthday cards for the year.  These are the big ones I have been doing for work.  Only 5 more to do after this one.

This one is simple but I thought the paper was beautiful. The yellow paper is a metallic gold which of course does not show up on the photo. The claim shell is a dimensional sticker. I think it was from K& Company.  Happy birthday is cut from a die from Stampin Up.
