My brother came visiting my blog and inspired me to get back here and add some of the things I have been doing. For a long time I wanted more of an audience here but I have decided this is nothing but journal for me to remember the things I have been making.
If you come visit, say hi - Happy to have you but I am not holding my breath for people to stop by!
After one of my online watercolor tutorials, I had a bunch of paint on my pallet and didn't want to just wash it away. I painted a bunch of smaller things just for fun.
This is done on Canson cold press paper with Dr PH Martin's Radiant Watercolors.
Then I needed a quick card for a wedding reception and this was handy to make a quick card.
The steps were easy once the painting was done.
- Determine the card size for the painting. In this case it was 5 by 7
- Cut card base ( 7 by 10 ) and fold in half
- Cut a black piece to fit on the card as a mat. Typically I trim a quarter inch off of the original size but I wanted it a bit smaller this time.
- Trim painting to fit.
- Diecut words, layer and glue it all together.
- In this case, I added a white piece of paper inside to write on.
- Then sign the back.
There you go - Took me less than 15 minutes to have this card ready to go, since the painting was just sitting around my craft room
Have a creative day!
