My First Stampscapes Cards

With the encouragement of a dear friend, I finally was brave enough to try a stampscape card. This card is my first try. I used a brayer and a multi-colored stamp pad to create the background.  The stamps I used are: Lakeside Cabin 147F and the rocks off of Babbling Brook 183G. I also used trees and clouds from another maker..A Stamp in the Hand.

Here is my second try. It has the same stamps with the addition of Row Boat 166A. I colored this first with the brayer again. This time I tried to get the yellow at the horizon.  Then I added a touch of green on the trees, brown on the cabin, and some orange behind the trees.

U is for Umbrella

This is my U card for the letter swap at JustCards. I loved the umbrella stamp when I first saw it. I got it on clearance for a dollar. It was even wood mounted. It is by Great Impressions. I colored it adn the sandles with markers. The sandals are done with a clear stamp that was a dollar also. I have had the ribbon for several years and know there would come the perfect moment to use a piece.  The yellow piece of background paper is pearlescent a beautiful all my itself.

Cards for card class

I taught a card class for church, We had a night called Midnight Madness. There are lots of different crafts to do to help everyone get things ready for Christmas and just have fun. It goes from 4 in the afternoon to midnight. They even had soup for dinner and snacks.  I was asked to do a card class. These are the cards we did.

The stamps on this snowman card are from two different Stampin Up sets. The background is a Cuttlebug Folder.  I colored it with colored pencils.

The Santa stamp is from High Hopes. I colored it with markers and colored pencils. The "Be Merry" And punches were from Stampin Up. The background paper was a bargin from Tuesday Morning.

People started coming about 4:30 Pm. The last person left about 11:50 PM. It was a long night! About 25 people signed up and about 20 showed up. Here is a picture of the first group that came. I had two tables like this and another round table set up for people to do tags.

My daughter designed the words for this. I am not sure who made the wise men stamp. The background was Cuttlebug again. I cut out the frames for the wise men was done with nestibilities.

And here is the very last card. It is simple but nice. The background paper is another pad of paper from Tuesday Morning.  The stamp was also a bargin from Tuesday Morning. The flower is punched out with Stampin Up punches and put it together with a brad.  I pinch each flower petal to make the flower more dimentional.

Tone on Tone Angel

This month on JustCards, one of the swaps we did was using the tone on tone technique. In this technique, you create a image using the same color embossing powder as paper when you stamp the image. The only hard part, I found with the technique, was that the stamp wanted to slide on the slick metalic paper. Here I used silver on silver to create the angel. It is hard to photograph but beautiful in person. The background was done with a cuttlebug folder.  The angel and words are from A Stampin Up set called " On Angel Wings".

Pop Up O Christmas Tree

When I first saw this die, I just had to have it. I actually had to take some cards, bookmarks and jewelry to work to sell, in order to be able to afford it. It is NOT cheap. Today I had three friends come over to help me figure out how the tree worked. I am so pleased.  Thanks for checking it out!

This is the front of the card. The word stamp is from Inkadinkado. I got it at Tuesday Morning for just $.99.  The tree border was done with a EK punch. I chose the colors from some Christmas papers I had from last year as part of one of those ultimate scrapbook sets.

Here is the card open. It is so cool that I can do such a complicated pop up card.  The tree skirt was done with a Outline Stamp. I colored it with colored pencils but the paper itself was also printed. This was part fo the same ultimate scrapbook set.

This is a close-up of the corner designed for the sender to leave a message. The curls are bits of left over paper from the flourish die cuts I used on the tree.  Just couldn't trow them out and I like the detail.  The snowflales were a punch. I have had it a long time and don't know who makes it.

The tree is decorated with punched circles, tiny stars that are part of a border punch, and flourishes. The flourish die is from Quickutz. The "snow" is a Stickler. I used a little of that on the front of the card above the trees.

I did watch this viseo to help me figure out putting the die cuts together. You can see it here.  I also got some inspiration at I Am Not Left Handed. You should check out her pop up cards.  Thanks for stoping by!Let me know what you think,

Weekly Color Game

On JustCards, we are playing a color game from now until Christmas. If you are not a member of JustCards, please come and join us.  The way the game works is that I have picked over a hundred colors off of a wikipedia site.  Each Sunday, I will post 5 colors drawn at random on JustCards. THe game is to make a card using at least three of the 5 colors.  I will have different judges each week pick one. That card will be put on the group homepage for the week and I will send them a little prize like unmounted stamps, diecuts or images

This week, the colors chosen were sienna, wheat, plum, cerise, and periwinkle. I chose seinna, wheat and plum. This is my card.  The stamps are from an old Stampin Up set.

Sunset Moose Cards

I made two cards like this this week. The sunset is done with alcohol inks on glossy paper by The Paper Temptress. The stamp is from a set of unmounted Alaska stamps. I was never told who made them. I got them off of ebay a couple years ago. The leaf paper in the background is from K & Company. The beige leaves are tectured and very cool. I hated to cover them up but it really ehlped complete the cards.
