I did an alcohol ink swap. This is the card I did. Playing with alcohol ink has the same kind of feel as playing with watercolor. Put it down and let go!
I am going to start having monthly craft classes. They will not all be card classes but this first one is. Here are the projects for March. The emphasis this time is dry embossing. Thought it was a good place to start.
I haven't done a swap in a long time. Today I did this card for a swap. I played with alcohol ink on Yupo paper. I splashed a lot of 91% rubbing alcohol on it too.
Lots of fun playing
I only used part of the sheet on the card. I will save the rest for a future card. The words were cut with a word die.
I haven't gotten my kits for February yet but I still painted along with Sarah Cray at Let's Make Art using my own paints and papers. Brent joined me too. It has been a long week as the power was out for about 36 hours this week and the house got VERY cold since it was 13 Fahrenheit. After the power came back one and the house started to warm up, I painted this.
I used the wet on wet technique. It has to be my favorite. :)
While in Africa, I painted these two paintings. Two people on the tour had birthdays, and I did these for them. I had a small box of paints I brought with me when I came.
I gave popup cards to all my kids and grandkids in 2018. I made most of them. For my youngest son, I did not do a pop up. I did this amazing computer card out of a heavy metallic paper. Part of it were a cut file I got on Silhouette.
He is studying computers in college.
I added some writing inside but as an afterthought, I should have used a post it note to write the message inside.
I think this is the best thing I have painted so far. I love it. I did it before I went to Africa in November. It is a project from Let's Make Art.
After I did it, I sent a photo of it to Walgreens and printed all kinds of projects. Below are some boards I had done for two of my grandsons. I also did several cards which I will show later.
Painted with PH Martin Radiant Watercolors on Canson Cold Press paper.
I have been loving the lessons from Let's Make Art. Their business has exploded. It's not longer as personal as it was in the beginning but I am learning a lot and still enjoying it.
Here was another time I was playing with paint left from a painting project. I did a bunch of small paint blotches. This one also had a little salt added for interest. Later I added a diecut word and mounted it to the card base. In this one, I added some washi tape to balance the space.
