Girl with Poppies

This is an Angie girl from Unity.  I stamped it with Stazon ink on watercolor paper. I used my Tim Holtz stamping platform to stamp it so I could stamp over and over until I got the image I wanted.  I painted it with water colors and then I stamped it again at the end. 

Detailed Santa Card

Yes, it is the middle of January but I still want to post some of the cards I did before Christmas.

The Santa die is from Stampin Up. The Merry Christmas words are the outline from a page of peel-off stickers.  I got double duty from them.

I made many of these before Christmas. It is a die set from Stampin Up.

Fold- A- Long Tree Card

This card is done with a Sizzix die. The series of cards are called "fold=a=log". The designers last name is long.  I have admired the dies for a while and was able to get too on a big sale. This is the first I have done. My brother and niece helped make it before Christmas. 

Flamingo Card

I played with more Silhouette cutting files and did this card.  One of my daughter in laws loved it so I will send it to her to give away. 

Several Birthday cards.

These are all large birthday cards for work. I actually have 18 of the 42 I need for 2018 already done. They are all 8.5 by 5.5 inches.   All of the elements are cut with the Silhouette. There was a big 50% off sale and I realized I had many files I have never cut.  Time to use what I have rather than spend more!  

Candy Jars

I got these jars at the dollar store. I was originally going to glass etch these but I wasn't happy with the first sample. I decided to just cut the names in vinyl.  I made 15 of them for my team for Christmas.  I used my Silhouette to cut the vinyl. 

Winter Sisters

I love this stamp. This card will be for my mom to give her twin sister at the end of January.  

Stamp is by Unity. 

It is a combination of paper piecing and Copic coloring.

I haven't posted all the projects I did before Christmas. These are a combination of paper piecing and Copic markers. The stamps are by Unity.

I made this for my daughter in law's sister. It was a cu file from Silhouette. We gave her a gift card in it. 

Sketching

Since just after Christmas, I have been trying to sketch every day.  Some days I have painted as well. I am not good but I do believe that you can't get better without practice.  I have two sketchbooks and I think all of these are from the large book.

In the drawing above, I stamped the image in my book so I would have something to work off of when I drew at work.

I have a whole children's book in my mind after this image.  Perhaps someday, I will really write it. 

Anne was brave and smart.

And Anne had wild red hair. 

Mom tried to tame it but the hair always won. It was wild and red.

Sometimes kids at school teased her for her wild red hair.

Anne wished her hair was different.

She climbed up a tree and thought.  (Green tree hair)

She laid on a big rock and thought (castle hair)

She sat in the garden and thought. (Flower hair)

She put her head in a water and thought. (Ocean hair in bathtub)

She sat and thought some more. (Sitting/ rainbow hair)

Then she laid in her own bed with her wild red hair swooshed around her head.

Who would want boring tame hair? 

She decided her hair was just right the way it was! 

Wakely Girl

I am still making large brithday cards for work. I also still love the Angie Girls from Unity.  The background paper is two sides of a single paper.  The image is Wakely Girl. The words came in a grab bag from unity. I stamped with Memento Ink. It is colored with Copic colors.  I used
B95, B34, B12, BG93, W5, Y21, Y17, E11.
