Day 45 - Daily Challenge - More watercolor resist

The watercolor resist part of this is from a Paper Pumpkin kit. by Stampin Up.  Amy, my daughter in law did the watercolor resist with watercolor pencils. My granddaughter helped and spilled water over it.  I tried to stamp words on it and the words didn't turn out.

In order to save it, I cut it out and mounted it on cardstock. Then I used words I had cut with the Silhouette.  I think I like the end result even more than the plans from the kit.

Day 44 - Daily Challenge - Watercolor resist

I got some watercolor resist sheets and tried out my new Koi watercolors on this sheet.  It was very simple watercoloring but I good place to start playing with them.  I love the saying.

Day 43 - Daily Challenge - Sunset

This is the sunset on Friday May 28, 2017 on Lake Michigan.  It was taken in front of our family place between Silver Lake and Pentwater Michigan. I don't think there can be too many beautiful sunset pictures.

Day 42 - Daily Challenge - Watercolor card

I am at the cottages and brought a Paper Pumpkin kit along. This is a watercolor card kit. It provided watercolor pencils but I used some watercolor paints.

Day 41 - Daily Challenge - More Doughnuts

I am getting close to 50 continuous days. I am excited.  It is also getting harder.

I did another doughnut card from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I actually have done a couple. One of my employees loves doughnuts so I had to give her one.  I made cards while the leadership was together for lunch. It made my boss want doughnuts so she is going out to get them for the whole department.

Day 40 - Daily Challenge - Iris

I moved some Irises from my house in Idaho to Michigan.  I thought I only took the root beer colored ones which bloom late, and I figure those won't bloom this year since I moved.  Happily, I accidentally brought this lovely purple one and it was far enough along, it still bloomed. I feel kind of blessed!

Day 39 - Daily Challenge - Dragonflies

These are lovely dies from Stampin Up.  I just love the details in the dragonflies. The words were cut out with my Silhouette. As has become usual for me, this is another very large card.

Day 38 - Daily Challenge- From the Herd

This is such a cute stamp set from Stampin up. I layered the heads of some of the animals. I added google eyes to the goat and pig.  They are colored with colored pencils and then blended with odorless mineral spirits. This is one of my big cards for work.  Hope the card makes you smile.  Have a creative day!

Day 37 - Daily Challenge - One more simple card

Here is a final simple card from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  This time, the photo does not do it justice.  The swirly flower is metallic.   It makes the whole card and it just doesn't show here.  Wish you could see it in person but it is still a nice example of a pretty simple card.

Day 36 - Daily Challenge - More Simplicity cards

Here is another card I did with a Paper Pumpkin kit.  I liked a stamp I owned for the words, rather than the one in the kit.  Nothing super special here. Just simple beauty. There are a few sequins glued on here and there as flower centers but besides that it is just printed card with the words stamped.

Day 35 - Daily Challenge - Simplicity

I am doing a sale in July and need to get some cards done in preparation.  My DIL, Amy has been helping.  This card is from an old Paper Pumpkin kit and I used a different stamp. It is simple, but very pretty.

Day 34 - Daily Challenge - Doughnut card

This is from the Paper Pumpkin kit I got for May.  The card is a doughnut and they provided envelopes that look like little bags.  Pretty cute!

Day 33 - Daily Challenge - Cards

I made these cards last summer for my niece and nephew.  I gave some of them to my mother to give to them.  The cat was a sticker. Some of the balloons were Stampin Up punches. The cake is a stamp that you can put different numbers in.  It is a clear acrylic stamp but I don't remember the company.

Day 31 - Daily Challenge- Sewing themed card

One of my friend, Lynne, is a sewer and quilter.  She is part of a group that works on hand and petal driven sewing machines.  Here is a card I did for her.

Day 30- Daily Challenge - Bananas

Sometimes the light is just right. The picture just falls into place.  This is a photo of bananas. I took it in the aquarium in Salt Lake City. Looks like it is in the jungle. Took it with just my phone...and I think it is a wonderful photo. Hope you do too.  Did you know this is what bananas looked like growing?

Day 28- Daily Challenge - Flower

I love nature. I can think of nothing as beautiful and wonderful as the world around us.  I will make art of different kinds the rest of my life but nothing will ever match the beauty that is already here. Look. Look closely. Look afar. It is there.

Day 26- Daily Challenge - Fungi Wonders

I just love these close ups. This one looks like coral but it is growing in the woods in Michigan. I took the picture last summer.

Daily Challenge - Day 25 - Thirsty Cards

I don't even drink coffee but I think these cups are cute.  The die is a Tim Holtz die.

Day 24- Daily Challenge- Balloons!

I am really enjoying the daily challenge.  I wish I had more people to visit my blog but I also know that blogs are not as popular as they once were.  Here is another large birthday cards for work. I wanted to play with the die from Stampin up. I also used the matching punch and stamps The bling doesn't show us as well in the picture but it was fun to make.

Day 23- Daily Challenge - Hot Air Balloon Card

I love this die from Stampin Up.  When you add the cloud embossing folder, also from Stampin up, AMAZING! :)

Day 22 - Daily Challenge - Sunset photo

Here is a picture I took of Lake Michigan in Aug 2016. Before I started the daily challenge, I hadn't posted for a year so it is still appropriate to post it.  This was taken with my phone which still amazes me.

Day 21 - Daily Challenge - Teacup card

This is another of those big cards for work. 5.5 by 8.5 inches.  The stack of teacups are done with a Stampin Up die set.  I printed the words on card stock so I could have the saying I wanted.

Day 20 - Daily Challenge - Graduation Card.

My daughter in law graduates today. She is getting her bachelors degree to be a nurse. She attended Idaho State University which has a tiger as the mascot. I cut this with my Silhouette quite a while ago. It was quite difficult with all the parts. I used it to make her a graduation card  which my mother will give her for graduation.

Day 18 - Daily Challenge - Cactus

I took this photo at Meijer Garden last fall in Michigan.  I have taken photos like this in Idaho in the outdoors, close up on cactus but this one has become one of my favorites.

Day 17 - Daily Challenge -Ferrero Rocher teacup

I made these for my co-workers for Christmas. The hold a Ferrero Rocher chocolate.  I mostly followed this video listed here but also made some small alterations. There are several videos on doing them.  I had a pre-made flower I put on it.  The leaves are from the bird punch by Stampin Up. I think the circle and scalloped circle are also made with Stampin Up supplies.

Day 16 - Daily Challenge - Jewelry

Late last fall, I was able to teach the young women at my church how to make bracelets.  The first bracelet took a long time but I then challenged then to make a second in 20 minutes. One of the girls didn't want a second but the leader of the girls and the two others, beat the time and went home with 2 bracelets.

Day 15 - Daily Challenge - Flowery Birthday

I am still working on the large birthday cards for work. I will be working at it all year I think.  Here is another.

The background was a lovely paper. Some of the flower centers are holes in the paper letting the background show through. The blue, green and orange flowers are cut with a die from Stampin Up. The happy birthday is also cut with a Stampin Up die.
