Stampin Up Birds

I went to a Stampin Up workshop and did this bird card. I liked the bird enough, that I ordered the punch. below is my version of the card. The ribbon was so pretty that I felt bad covering it up. All the punches and stamps are from Stampin Up. The paper on my card is not from Stampin Up.
I also had to use my scanner rather than the camera because I am out of batteries.  I like the photos of my cards more than the scans.

Thanks for coming by.

Dancing Fairy

I am teaching a class this week and this is one of the cards we will be doing.  They will do one of these since there is lots of cutting out. Below is a close up of the Garden Fairy so you can see the layers. I used a thinker spacer between the first and second layer. 1/8 for the first layers and 1/16 for the second.

\
The image is a Garden Fairy. I did not color them. They are already colored.  The background is done with a Cuttlebug folder.  They make it feel more like spring.

Birdcage Birthday

Here is another workshop card. I changed all kinds of things from what the demonstrator did. The papers are double sided and I used the other side. She had the whole set of stamps and I chose the birdcage rather than the cake. It was fun to make it my own.  All materials are from Stampin Up.

For You

Here is another card from the recent workshop.  All the materials are from Stampin Up. At home, I almost never use a sponge to shade with. I use Tim Holtz tool that is a wood block with velcro and then a piece of felt. I am unhappy with my shading on this.  The hostess did not have the brown behind the flower but I felt it needed it. I also stamped the small flower out of a different color than the hostess.  I like doing my own thing, even on cards that are planned for me. It makes them my own.

Quick Valentine

I did this for my husband last week. I was busy doing things for my new job so I didn't get it made until Valentine's Day morning but I thought it was important that the husband of a cardmaker get a valentine.
The stamp contains all the hearts. It is made by Inkadinkado and designed by Dawn Houser. I stamped it twice on white paper. Them I cut several of the hearts out and attached them back on with dimensional adhesives to give it more depth.  Then I attached it to a red piece followed but a sheet of paper that was dry embossed that I received in a swap, The base card is red. I always have a white sheet of paper attached inside the card when the base card stock is dark and I used a need border punch on that.

Have fun card making!!

Friends Card

I went to a card workshop today. We made 8 cards and of course, I couldn't do the cards exactly like she taught.  I had to put my own twist to them. This is the closest I came to doing what she wanted. The colors are old olive and rich razzleberry. The stamps are from Stampin Up and called Vintage Vogue.  The border punch is also from Stampin Up and called Scallop Trim Border.

W is for Watermelon

Here is the next alphabet card for the JustCards alphabet swap.  It makes me think of summer. Nothing really new on techniques for me here. I colored it with colored pencils and used odorless mineral spirits to blend.  It was a simple card but I was happy with the results. It went all the way to Scotland for the swap. It is my first swap card to Scotland!

Photoscape Card

I did this card for a StampscapeII swap. It is a photo that has been stamped on to create the scene.  I am still learning but it was a good challenge.

Window Card

I did this card for a swap for JustCards.  I did the window with a die at Archivers in Illinois. It didn't cut out well and I had to do a lot of the cutting by hand. .

The image inside is from Stampin Up.  I colored it with colored pencils.

Quick Butterfly card

A friend at work is having her 60th birthday today so I whipped up this card last night. The paper is prettier than a photo can show. It is kind of pearl-y  and shiny.
I did the butterfly with 3 stickers. I foldered two in half with a flat one on top to create a 3-d effect. Then I used glitter glue to add more dimention.  Inside, I punched a border on the white insert.  It is a bright pretty card on a cold snowy day!

Valentine's

While in Illinois, I made this Valentine for a JustCard's swap. The heart was from an image swap and the hÄnglar and stÄnglar stamp was a gift from Annika.  I colored with colored pencils and bended with OMS. The skin and hair was done with copics.
I also did Valentine's with my neice. She colored the image and I made the card for her. This is for her teacher. We also did cards for her class but I don't have a picture.
