Cute Kid Card

This card was made for the cute kid swap for JustCards. The image was sent to me and I had lots of fun coloring it. The Skin and yellow was done with copics (E00 for skin) . The rest was done with colored pencils and OMS. I thought she was...well, cute! : ) The stamp is from Magnolia.

P is for Parrot

Here is the P card I did for the alphabet swap for JustCards. The coloring was all done with colored pencils and OMS. Then I used an embossing marker on the birds and covered them with clear embossing powder. It really made them pop. A photo doesn't really show it but I thought the technique worked well. The stamp is from I Brake for Stamps.

Horse Birthday Card

Here is another Magnollia image I was sent. One of my dear friends loves horses and she is having a birthday soon. I colored again with colored pencils and OMS. The words were printed on my computer. The background is Cuttlebug.

Houston Temple card

This card is for my son's 21st birthday. He has been serving a mission in Houston Texas for almost 2 years. I wanted to send him something special. I was very happy with it. I found the image online and cut one into layers. It has been distressed with Vintage Photo distrss ink. I use Tim Holtz blending tool and love it.

Teddy Bear card

I got this stamp from a garage sale a few weeks ago. I colored it with colored pencils and OMS. The background is done with my Cuttlebug. I believe the ribbon was a gift from my friend Laurel in Australia. The inside border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

More cactus pictures

Well, I posted some of the cards I did last night but I also took another walk on the AIM trail yesterday morning. I found a few more cactus in bloom and had to share the pictures.

It's a very sparse environment but it would surprise you to see all the life if you are attentive. I think there is beauty everywhere if you look, as well as inspiration.

Do you think this flower had anything to do with the colors I chose for my card? : ) Please look for the beauty around you!

Marked Birthday card

The stamping on this has a lot more layers that it looks in the picture. Each flower is two stamps. One background in Summer Sun and then a upper layer in More Mustard. Then they are masked before leaves and stems. Last I inked the edges. The flower is partly created with the scallop punch and a flower punch from Stampin Up. The flower and leaves are from the Happiness Always Stampin Up set.

Magnolia Image

I was busy last night and stayed up most of the night making cards. It was lovely to lose myself in card making. Here is one of the cards I did. I used copics on the skin and yellow. The rest is done with colored pencils and OMS (orderless Mineral Spirits) It will be a birthday card for a co-worker. The image was a gift from a friend.

More pictures from hike.

Here are a couple more pictures from our walk on the AIM trail. The bird is a magpie.

This pictures was taken in partly of the trail that is in a collapsed lava flow. I love these trees. So much character.

This one was on the flat area. It is a plateau in the center of the valley. Very odd really. People rock climb on the sides of it.

Not Cards but beautiful

I have been trying hard to lose weight. This morning we took a long walk on a trail in town. It is unique as it is on top of a lava flow and ends in an area that is a collapsed part of the flow. It is right in the center of the valley but there are no buildings. Just nature. I loved it. Here are some pictures.

This is my son and husband....

The cactus weren't in bloom but close.

He stood real still thinking we couldn't see him but it made for easy picture taking.

Tomorrow it will be back to making cards but this was a nice activity for today.
