August 30 Card Class

I may never catch up with posting my cards on here but here is information from our last card class.
Here are some of the class members.  We did flip cards this time in three different ways.
If you would like the technique sheet for the class, let me know and I will email it to you. Haven't figured out how to attach it here.
Method 1: Super Simple- Find a die that cuts Flip cards. I got this one from Sizzix and the had a matching set of dies for the layers. The punch and flower emboslit is from Stampin Up.

Method Two: This is done with Nestibility dies. Here is the link for a video about it.
Measurements depend on the die you use.  The camper and words is a Unity stamp.

Method 3 is the hardest. By hand. No dies to cut for you.

Wish everyone could come to class!

Family Frame

This was the most popular project at Midnight Madness this year. I saw something like it on Pinterest but them developed my own thing because nothing had directions and most were restricted to Stampin Up supplies.

This is a 8 1/2 by 11 frame. The red paper is Cherry Cobbler from Stampin Up. The rest is just papers I found.  The paper behind the "I" is a plain paper with the red design stamped.

  • Background paper is 81/2 by 11
  • Black squares are 2 1/2 by 2 1/2
  • patterned paper squares are 2 1/4 by 2 1/4
  • The letters were cut with the Classic Font Cricut cartridge.
  • The little vines are separate from the letters and done with the pieces from an EK vine border punch
  • The bird and butterflies are done with Stampin Up products. Punch for the bird and embosslet for the butterflies.
  • Other shapes are dies by Spellbinders.
  • The "Together Forever" stamp is Stampin Up

I cut out most of the pieces for 53 of these. CRAZY!! I cut everything but the vines and bird punch for 53!! Well, I think everyone loved it which is really nice.  Sadly, I will probably have to cut one more for my daughter for Christmas.

Tri Shutter Bird card

I am still having card classes. The last few have been held in a dance studio so we would have more room but she is being forced to move and we will be back to meeting at my house. Here is a card we did a few weeks ago.

The dies used are all from Spellbinders. It is a fairly easy card for how hard it looks.

Valentine's Card from class

Here is another card we did for class. This was just last week. We did 2 cards and a little die cut basket. This was one of the cards.
The base card stock was metallic. It was kind of like foil covered. The white paper was my favorite Georgia-Pacific white cardstock from Walmart. The dies were from Spellbinders. The stamps were Stampin Up. The shading was done with Stampin Up ink as well.

Spellbinders Bird Die

Aren't these cool? I saw on Becca's blog that she did a pop up card with this die. Check it out here http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/birdcage-popup-card-and-giftbox-part/ It is amazing. This is on my wish list so I can make one too!  What do you think?

Swap cards

These are some of my swap cards from this month. The first was a swap where I was suppose to use something new I hadn't used yet. I used some paper and a cricut cartridge I hadn't used before.
And this next card was the technique card for this month.
They hearts were from Tuesday Morning. The big shapes were done with Spellbinders dies. The red strip in the front was done with a punch.

50th Anniversary

I went to a 50th wedding anniversary party yesterday and forgot to make a card. At the last minute, I put this together. The picture was on the party invite. The frame on the picture is a Spellbinders pendent die. The words are from a stamp set from Stampin Up. I was pretty pleased with it since I did it so fast.
